O Pplware esteve recentemente na Philips Open House, uma casa tipicamente lisboeta mobilada pela Philips com o objectivo de mostrar ao consumir quais as suas novidades para o Natal de 2013.
Dentro da áreas Consumo e Estilo de Vida, foram apresentados produtos de cuidado pessoal, para a casa e, aqueles que com certeza mais interessarão os nossos leitores – os produtos de entretenimento – entre os quais o televisor Ultra HD premiado da marca.
Na área de entretenimento em casa, a Philips destaca a sua mais recente aposta no mercado das TVs Ultra HD, a série 9000. Foi também este modelo que venceu o prémio EISA de TVs Ultra HD para 2013-2014. Combinando um poderoso painel com mais de 8 milhões de píxeis (resolução 4K SUHD) numas fantásticas 65” (165cm) e 900 Hz, oferece 4 vezes mais resolução do que um televisor Full HD.
À semelhança de modelos anteriores, a série 9000 inclui a Ambilight XL, que não é mais do que 3 painéis laterais de luzes coloridas na traseira da TV que mudam de cor consoante a cor da extremidade da imagem do momento. Isto é, ao ser projectada luz com as cores da moldura da imagem, cria-se uma sensação de imersão adicional.
A nitidez da imagem da série 9000 é impressionante. Note as luzes no painel traseiro que acabam por aumentar a sensação de imersão dentro da própria imagem.
O controlo remoto destas TVs distingue-se pelo facto de, num dos lados, têm-se os botões normais de um comando TV; na parte de trás do comando está um teclado Querty, muito fácil de manusear. Além disso, o próprio controlo remoto, quando apontado para a TV, funciona como cursor/rato para uma navegação na interface mais rápida e intuitiva.
A série 9000 é também uma Smart TV, com todas as aplicações da praxe, sempre corridas a partir da cloud, o que garante a sua constante actualização. Suporta conteúdos em 3D mas também converte passivamente conteúdos em formato tradicional.
Estão disponíveis neste modelos aplicações como o Dropbox, permitindo a reprodução de conteúdos a partir da cloud.
Este brinquedo não é propriamente barato, pois trata-se de uma tecnologia muito recente. Poderá adquirir a série 9000 das TVs Philips por cerca de 4999€.
Mas continuam a existir propostas da marca para o mercado das Full HD. A gama Elevation e DesignLine têm características semelhantes, mas a linha Elevation é superior, cerca de 151cm (60”) vs. 140cm, tem 4 painéis AmbilightXL em vez de 3.

A diferença destes modelos para a série 9000 nota-se de uma forma quase dolorosa. Depois de olhar por uns momentos para uma TV Ultra HD, voltar a olhar uma Full HD é regressar ao passado, é subitamente encontrar todos os defeitos da imagem a 1080p. Mas estes modelos, mais modestos, custam metade, cerca de 2500€.
