A Futuremark, conhecida pelas suas populares aplicações de benchmark, lançou hoje o PCMark 7 direccionado à análise do desempenho global do PC.
Inicialmente, o seu lançamento foi anunciado para o passado dia 3. No entanto houveram problemas de última hora e no dia 9 foi anunciado aos press que o lançamento oficial seria hoje, dia 12.
O PCMark 7 inclui uma série de testes para o Windows 7 incluindo testes de desempenho ao nível de cálculo, armazenamento, edição de vídeo e imagem, navegação na web e desempenho gráfico em jogos. Está preparado para correr em todos os sistemas desde tablets e netbooks até desktops de topo.
O PCMark 7 está disponível em 3 versões: Basic Edition, Advanced Edition e Professional Edition. A primeira delas, gratuita, permite apenas correr um dos 7 testes disponíveis nas outras duas versões, pagas. O teste disponível na versão Basic Edition é o PCMark test e os testes direccionados ao hardware não estão disponíveis nesta versão gratuita.
Dentro das versões pagas, a Advanced Edition custa $39.95 e a Professional Edition custa $995.00, esta última direccionada obviamente ao uso profissional, sem número limite de PCs a utilizar entre outras vantagens.
